Muay Thai is an Ancient Combat Art which originated for centuries in Thailand. It has been revered as well as feared as one of the most simple, sophisticated, brutally effect form of fighting and self-defense. Muay Thai is known as the Science of Eight Limbs whereas a combatant utilizes thier Hands, Elbows, Knees, and Shins to inflict damage on ones advesary. K-1 is a popular international combat sport which originated in Japan where fighters from around the world compete in this prestigeous event. The fighting style of K-1 general comprises of techniques garnered from Muay Thai, KickBoxing, Karate, and Boxing.

At New Era Athletics we offer traditional Muay Thai which is an excellent art to develope mental and physical discipline for kids and teens from ages 7 - 16 years of age. Muay Thai originally in Thailand is taught to children starting as early as 6 years of age and by the time they reach 8 years of age most children start thier professional fighting careers. The wonderful thing about Muay Thai and Thai culture in general is the amount of etiquette and moral behavior it instills within a child. A child will learn to develope not only technical ability and skills but proper also proper moral and ethical conduct and behavior. This is the true purpose of Muay Thai in it's pure essence as an art and cultural phenomena.
